Buyer's Benefit??
October 10th, 2007 12:29 AM

So the big question everyone’s asking is “How’s the market?” The honest truth- I’m still selling houses despite the negative publicity. Although we don’t have the inflated market scenerios we experienced in 2004 and 2005, we do have a stable market that will be healthier in the long run.

Who is benefiting most from this market? Buyers who don’t have a home to sell. I have found that my buyers are asking for seller incentives and lower than average prices, and they’re receiving accepted offers! Buyers can take this opportunity to ‘catch up’ if they missed out in the rat race of purchasing a home that they could not afford three years ago.  Interest rates are still considerably low and renting prices continue to increase.

My advice to sellers is to be open minded when buyers request seller incentives. Seller’s can also expect longer days of market. Continue to be optimistic and make decisions based on the logic instead of emotion. With the help of your Realtor, and a competitive asking price, your home will sell!

Overall, Jacksonville is quiet fortunate compared to other cities in the nation and in Florida for that matter.  For further questions or more detailed statistics on our market, email me a bstewart@brittanystewart.com.
